SK Geo Centric announced on the 1st that it will lower the supply prices of its major products to strengthen mutual growth and cooperation with small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) clients.

The company explained that it will reduce the prices of polymer products, including polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), supplied to SME clients by up to 200,000 won per metric ton. The price reduction will apply to volume shipped starting from June.

The measure was reportedly introduced to ease burdens on small and medium-sized manufacturers suffering from rising raw material costs and domestic and international business uncertainties, while supporting their stable business operations and competitiveness.

Notably, this supply price reduction is driven in alignment with the government's naphtha supply stabilization policy. The government is covering 50% of the price increase compared to pre-war levels for contract volumes from April to June for petrochemical companies. Market analysts evaluate that this price cut ensures the benefits of government support successfully reach actual end-user companies and the broader petrochemical product market.
