kt cloud has completed the construction of a public cloud utilizing its next-generation cloud platform, "kt cloud PLATFORM," developed through its proprietary technological prowess.

On the 29th, kt cloud announced that it is showcasing the kt cloud PLATFORM to enable the operation of virtual servers (VMs) and containers within a single environment. It features an architecture designed to flexibly perform resource deployment, expansion, and operations management by applying an OpenStack architecture based on Kubernetes, the standard cloud technology.

This allows customers to consistently manage major cloud resources and security policies within a single UI-based management environment, thereby reducing operational complexities. By applying an open-source-based open structure, it diminishes dependency on specific vendors and can also flexibly link with diverse cloud environments.

The company emphasized that through this public cloud construction, public institutions have become capable of progressively utilizing a cloud environment that links distant multi-regions (Seoul-Gyeongbuk, approximately 200km) and near-distance multi-AZs (Yongsan-Mokdong, approximately 30km). A company official explained, "Even if a disruption occurs at a specific data center or system, services can be operated stably through other regions and AZs," adding, "We can also effectively respond to disaster recovery (DR) and high availability requirements mandated by national and public institutions."

Infrastructures for utilizing generative AI are provided alongside. Tasks ranging from AI learning to inference can be utilized within a single platform, and necessary resources can be flexibly expanded in accordance with shifts in usage volume. Public institutions can develop and operate diverse AI services, including generative AI, within a secure cloud environment that has acquired CSAP certification.

The company plans to expand services based on the kt cloud PLATFORM into private markets as well. Kim Bong-kyun, CEO of kt cloud, stated, "The construction of the public cloud based on the kt cloud PLATFORM elevates the stability and scalability of public cloud infrastructures based on our proprietary technology," emphasizing, "We will support the stable cloud transition and AI utilization of public institutions, and based on this, we will expand the application of the platform into private markets as well."
