| Split-billing feature / Baemin |
Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baemin, has launched a split-billing feature for customers using the "Group Order" service within the app.
According to Woowa Brothers on the 25th, Group Order is a collaborative ordering service where multiple people can share a link when ordering from a single restaurant, allowing individuals to add their preferred items to a single, combined delivery order.
Previously, using the Group Order service could lead to complicated calculations if participants ordered different dishes or when discounts were applied. To eliminate this hassle and make the service more convenient, the company developed the split-billing feature, a first among domestic delivery platforms.
Once the host pays for the group order first, they can request split-payments from other participants after the delivery is completed, which automatically calculates the amount each person owes based on the total order value. When dividing the bill, users can either split the total amount equally by N, or assign specific costs based on the exact menu items each individual ordered. It is also possible to manually adjust the automatically calculated amounts.
Group Orders can be placed using any payment method, while the split-billing feature is available to participants who have signed up for Baemin Pay. Participants can transfer the requested amount using Baemin Pay Money directly within the app, significantly boosting convenience by handling the entire process from ordering to final settlement seamlessly on a single platform.
The split-billing feature is currently available to a select group of users and will be expanded to all customers by the end of this month.
"We will continue to evolve constantly to lower payment and settlement hurdles in daily life, providing a valuable dining experience," said Choi Sung-gil, Head of the Payment and Settlement Product Department at Woowa Brothers.
