Medytox is launching its hyaluronic acid (HA) filler, Atiere, in the Latin American market.
The biopharmaceutical company announced on June 24 that it has secured product approval for three variations of its Atiere HA filler lineup from the Directorate General of Medicines, Food and Health Products (DIGEMAPS) of the Dominican Republic.
Following previous rollouts in Thailand and Indonesia, this latest regulatory greenlight marks Atiere’s inaugural entry into Latin America. Medytox plans to use the Dominican Republic as a strategic springboard to aggressively expand its footprint across the broader Latin American region.
Atiere is an HA filler developed entirely in-house by Medytox, utilizing proprietary technology that optimizes the balance between elasticity and viscosity. To ensure safety, the manufacturing process excludes animal-derived media and enzymes, instead using raw hyaluronic acid materials registered with the US Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Drug Master File (DMF) and certified by the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM).
The aesthetics sector in the Dominican Republic has been charting steady growth, driven by economic tailwinds and rising disposable incomes. More recently, the sweeping popularity of Korean cultural content has translated into a strong preference for Korean cosmetics, fueling heightened interest in K-medical aesthetic procedures and products.
Leveraging the local sales networks and marketing expertise built up through its established Neuramis filler brand in the Dominican Republic, Medytox plans to swiftly anchor the three newly approved products—Atiere Classic, Atiere Intensive, and Atiere Volume—in the local market. In tandem, the firm aims to boost its market share by maximizing cross-promotional synergies with Newlux, a botulinum toxin formulation developed by its subsidiary, Numeco.
"Entering Latin America gives our international strategy for Atiere significant momentum," a Medytox official stated. "We will continue to secure approvals in more countries to cement our position as a leading global filler brand."
