Ably is accelerating its pace in the fashion platform logistics race by putting forward a guaranteed next-day delivery service. This fulfillment-based shipping model—where products from marketplace sellers are pre-stocked in fulfillment centers and dispatched immediately upon order—aims to simultaneously capture demand for rapid delivery and alleviate the logistics burden on sellers.

According to industry sources on the 21st, Ably will officially launch 'Guaranteed Delivery,' a shipping service tailored for marketplace sellers, on the 22nd. To support this, the company secured an additional 7,800 pyeong (approx. 25,800 square meters) of logistics processing space by partnering with a specialized fulfillment provider in Gonjiam, complementing its own existing 3,000-pyeong fulfillment center in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. Consequently, Ably's total space for handling seller volume expanded to 10,800 pyeong, enabling it to process up to 1 million orders monthly and 12 million orders annually.

Under the Guaranteed Delivery model, when a seller pre-stocks products in Ably's fulfillment center, the items are dispatched straight from the warehouse immediately upon a customer's order, ensuring arrival by a designated scheduled date. Instead of the seller having to pack and ship products manually after receiving an order, Ably's system seamlessly manages the entire logistics chain from inbound receiving, warehousing, and picking to packing and final delivery.

The delivery cut-off times differ between weekdays and weekends or public holidays. On weekdays, next-day arrival is guaranteed for orders placed before midnight, while on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, customers can receive their packages the next day if they order before 10 p.m. Ably plans to initiate the service primarily within the fashion category before sequentially broadening its scope.

This service will run independently from 'Today Delivery,' a rapid shipping service Ably has operated since 2021 based on its internal fulfillment capabilities. While the existing Today Delivery model guarantees same-day dispatch for orders placed before a cut-off time set by individual marketplace sellers, Guaranteed Delivery sets itself apart as a next-day arrival service anchored in a fulfillment model where goods are stored in advance for instant dispatch.

Industry insiders view the introduction of Guaranteed Delivery as a springboard for Ably to本格적으로 expand its B2B logistics services. Given that Ably's user base features a high concentration of small-scale sellers, an all-inclusive logistics service covering storage, packaging, dispatch, and delivery is expected to act as a crucial differentiator in recruiting and retaining merchants.

The service fees for Guaranteed Delivery will vary depending on product characteristics and the logistics scale of each seller. Fees for inbound processing, warehousing, outbound handling, and shipping are understood to be determined by taking a comprehensive account of product volume, stock-keeping units (SKUs), monthly shipment volume, and the scope of services utilized.

Fast shipping is emerging as a critical battleground in the fashion platform industry. With consumer expectations regarding delivery speeds continuously rising, platforms recognize that enhancing delivery stability while reducing the operational burden on sellers can drive increases in gross merchandise volume (GMV) and user retention. Analysts project that if Ably reinforces its logistics infrastructure on top of its strong monthly active users (MAU), its overall competitive edge will be significantly magnified.

"As the majority of our marketplace sellers run small operations, managing everything from order fulfillment to shipping presented a significant burden," an Ably official stated. "We introduced this service to foster an environment where sellers can focus entirely on product curation and sales." The official added, "In cases of delivery delays, we will respond in accordance with internal operational guidelines, and we plan to operate the service in a manner that minimizes customer inconvenience."
