LG Electronics has expanded its lineup of combo washer-dryers that allow users to manage large loads of laundry cleanly and conveniently.
LG Electronics announced on the 21st that it will launch new models of the 'LG TROMM AI Objet Collection WashTower' and 'LG TROMM AI Objet Collection WashCombo' featuring South Korea's largest capacities within this month.
The newly introduced lineup consists of the WashTower, which has a 25 kg capacity for both washing and drying, and the WashCombo, which features washing and drying capacities of 25 kg and 21 kg, respectively. Both products offer the largest capacities in the country, allowing heavy laundry such as winter blankets to be washed and dried with ease.
The new products combine AI features with core components—such as the motor that precisely moves the drum and the compressor that lowers temperatures or generates dry air—to deliver more delicate washing and drying performance. This has elevated the products' inherent performance, energy efficiency, and convenience altogether. The Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive (AI DD) motor, one of LG Electronics' core technologies, washes and dries using the optimal motion among six different motions based on the fabric texture, soil level, and laundry load.
The appliances achieved the top energy efficiency rating (Grade 1), lowering the burden of electricity bills, and feature a sleek design that replaces the traditional detergent dispenser handle with a push-to-open mechanism, providing convenience along with a clean, premium feel.
The WashCombo is equipped with 'AI Time Sensing,' which assesses the laundry load to notify users of the estimated time for each cycle within three seconds, and the 'AI Time Guide' feature, which learns usage patterns to provide increasingly accurate estimated drying times the more it is used.
The new products also reflect various consumer feedback. The WashCombo features a Dual Inverter Heat Pump and a high-efficiency heat exchanger, increasing component integration to expand its drying capacity by 6 kg compared to previous models. Selecting the new product's 'Small Load Speed Cycle' completes the process from washing to drying for a 3 kg load in about 64 minutes, a reduction of over 30% compared to the 99 minutes of previous models. When combined with the MiniWash, users can conveniently operate the MiniWash right from the WashCombo's display without having to bend over.
LG Electronics has also upgraded its subscription and care services so that customers can use the products with peace of mind through expert maintenance. The company has newly added the 'Direct Water High-Pressure Wash' service, which connects a water line to the drum—an area difficult for customers to clean themselves—to thoroughly wash the inside and outside of the drum, apply UV care, and inspect its condition using endoscopic equipment. Utilizing a specialized drum washing machine care agent developed by LG Electronics, experts clean the tub thoroughly, and also use steam to meticulously clean the detergent dispenser, its housing, and the rubber gasket where detergent or foreign substances easily accumulate.
Son Chang-woo, Head of the Living Solution Business Division at LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution (HS) Company, stated, "We will continue to lead the combo washer-dryer market by putting forward our differentiated AI features, including our core AI DD motor technology, and our competitive edge in offering the nation's largest capacity."
