KORAIL Retail said on June 10 that it will introduce a “Safety AI Chatbot” to strengthen accident prevention and on-site response capabilities in railway station commercial facilities.

The Safety AI chatbot is designed specifically for environments such as Storyway convenience stores, Café Storyway, and food and beverage outlets within railway stations. It functions as a 24/7 “digital safety manager,” providing rapid, guideline-based responses when store employees input questions.

KORAIL Retail has built a structured knowledge base of 107 scenarios across 12 categories, including electrical safety, fire response, and slip-and-fall accidents, based on its internal safety manuals. The system delivers answers in a three-step format covering immediate action, precautions, and reporting procedures to support both initial response and follow-up reporting in the field.

Meanwhile, the company has been pushing broader digital transformation efforts, including the establishment of an AI Innovation Task Force under the CEO in March to drive company-wide AI adoption.
