AI startup Anthropic has reached a valuation of $965 billion following its latest fundraising round.
Anthropic announced on May 28 that it had secured $65 billion in its Series H funding round, bringing the company's valuation to $965 billion (approximately 1,440 trillion won).
The company said the new funding will be used to strengthen research into the safety and interpretability of its AI model, Claude, expand computing infrastructure to meet growing demand, and accelerate product development and partnerships.
According to Anthropic, adoption of Claude among enterprise customers has continued to grow rapidly. The company said corporate usage has expanded steadily since its Series G funding round in February, and annualized revenue surpassed $47 billion earlier this month.
“Claude is becoming an increasingly essential tool for users around the world,” said Krishna Rao, Chief Financial Officer of Anthropic. “This investment will help us maintain our research leadership and expand Claude more quickly across the diverse environments where people use it.”
The financing round includes previously committed investments totaling $150 billion, including a $50 billion commitment from Amazon.
Memory semiconductor manufacturers Samsung Electronics, SK hynix and Micron Technology also participated as strategic infrastructure partners. Anthropic said the companies’ memory, storage and semiconductor technologies will play a critical role in scaling AI computing capabilities.
Anthropic also announced a major expansion of its computing infrastructure. The company signed a new agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for up to 5 gigawatts of additional capacity and entered into a separate 5-gigawatt infrastructure partnership with Google Cloud and Broadcom based on next-generation TPU technology. It has also secured access to GPU infrastructure operated by SpaceX.
Anthropic emphasized that Claude is currently the first frontier AI model available across all three major cloud platforms: AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
