Samsung Electronics workers approved a tentative wage agreement reached between management and labor, officially putting the deal into effect after union members voted in favor of the proposal.
According to the joint bargaining committee of Samsung Electronics’ labor union on May 27, 95.5% of eligible voters participated in the vote held from May 21 through 10 a.m. that day. Of those who voted, 73.7% supported the tentative agreement.
Under union rules, more than half of eligible members must participate in the vote and a majority must approve the proposal for the agreement to take effect. With the approval secured, performance bonuses will also be finalized based on the new agreement.
The union is scheduled to hold a formal signing ceremony for the 2026 wage agreement later in the day.
