LS Cable & System is stepping up efforts to expand its presence in the North American offshore power grid market in partnership with LS Marine Solution.
The company announced on May 4 that it is participating in OTC 2026 (Offshore Technology Conference), held in Houston through May 7, where it is showcasing a range of offshore infrastructure products.
OTC is a leading global exhibition where major offshore energy and plant companies gather to present key technologies across offshore platforms, vessels, and subsea infrastructure.
The North American offshore infrastructure market continues to grow, driven by ongoing investments in subsea power grids and offshore plants. As offshore energy projects scale up and demand for long-distance power transmission rises, LS Cable is accelerating efforts to secure early market share, focusing on submarine and specialized offshore cables.
Marine cables must withstand extreme conditions such as ultraviolet exposure, salinity, seawater, and mud, requiring high durability and insulation stability. Shipboard cables must also maintain performance under constant vibration and repeated bending. LS Cable said it has secured operational stability for offshore infrastructure through advanced materials and design technologies tailored to these conditions.
The company has also obtained certifications from nine major global classification societies, enabling it to meet quality standards required for offshore projects in North America and Europe.
LS Cable is highlighting its capability in long-distance transmission through products such as 525kV-class HVDC submarine cables and bus ducts. It also emphasized its integrated execution system—covering design, production, installation, and maintenance—built in collaboration with LS Marine Solution.
“Offshore infrastructure requires reliability in extreme environments, long-distance high-capacity transmission technology, and extensive construction experience,” a company official said. “Based on our global project track record, we will strengthen our integrated competitiveness spanning products and installation to expand orders in the North American market.”
