Naver Cloud, HanmiGlobal partner on global data centers

Naver Cloud said Friday it will join hands with HanmiGlobal to pursue large-scale global data center projects, including in the Middle East.

The two companies signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) on April 22 to jointly participate in global data center developments, including projects in Saudi Arabia. The agreement aims to combine their core capabilities to respond to projects across the Middle East and other overseas markets while strengthening technological competitiveness.

Under the partnership, Naver Cloud will take charge of establishing infrastructure strategies and directions, designing business structures aligned with global standards, and developing service models based on its full-stack capabilities spanning cloud and AI services. HanmiGlobal will be responsible for data center design and construction advisory, project management including scheduling and cost control, as well as local licensing and execution in Saudi Arabia.

Naver Cloud has already built a foundation for digital and AI-driven cooperation in Saudi Arabia through its joint venture “Naver Innovation” with the National Housing Company (NHC). The company has been engaged in projects such as digital twin construction and the development of a map-based super app.

The latest agreement is expected to expand the scope of cooperation into infrastructure, positioning Naver Cloud as a key partner in Saudi Arabia’s long-term digital transformation.

HanmiGlobal, which entered the Middle Eastern market in 2007, has completed more than 50 projects in the region, demonstrating strong local execution capabilities.

Kim Yoo-won, CEO of Naver Cloud, said, “Naver Cloud has established a solid execution base through local subsidiaries and partnerships with key institutions, while HanmiGlobal is a proven partner with extensive project experience in the Middle East. Based on this agreement, we will actively respond to growing demand for digital infrastructure in the Middle East and emerging markets.”
