Kim Moon-soo, presidential candidate from the ruling People Power Party (PPP), and independent contender Han Duck-soo will meet again at 4 p.m. on May 8 for a second round of talks to unify their candidacies.
After the first meeting ended without agreement on May 7, Kim issued a statement proposing another meeting, saying, "To keep the unification talks alive, I propose a follow-up meeting with candidate Han Duck-soo tomorrow."
Han’s spokesperson, Lee Jung-hyun, responded in a written briefing, stating, "If candidate Kim proposes a meeting tomorrow, we will respectfully ask for understanding from those with prior appointments and adjust our schedule as much as possible to meet him."
While the time has been set for 4 p.m., the location of the second meeting has yet to be determined.
The two candidates previously met for about an hour and 15 minutes at a restaurant in Jongno-gu, Seoul, earlier on May 7, but failed to reach a consensus on unification.
