South Korea dominated men’s team archery finals, winning second consecutive gold in archery men’s team event.

The South Korean team of Oh Jin-hyek, Kim Woo-jin, and Kim Je-deok beat Chinese Taipei in the final by the set score of 6-0 at Yumenoshima Park Archery Field in Tokyo on Monday.

This is a valuable victory following the women’s archery team’s ninth consecutive win on Sunday. Since it was introduced in Seoul in 1988, South Korea’s men’s archery team has won gold six times out of nine.

Oh and Kim Woo-jin have two Olympic gold medals to their credit now. Oh is the 2012 individual champion and Kim was on the 2016 gold medal-winning men’s team.

The youngest member Kim Je-deok has joined the women’s team member An San as a double gold medalist. The two won the mixed team title together, and then An helped the women’s team win gold medal.

The South Korean archers were invincible in the final. After winning narrowly in a shoot-off in the semifinal match against host nation Japan, they drew their bows confidently.

In particular, the South Korean trio put up a perfect 60 in the second set, hinting at their victory. In the third set, Oh only needed a 9 to win, but the veteran hit a 10 to win gold.

With this, South Korea swept its third archery gold at the Tokyo Games, and it is now men’s and women’s individual titles away from winning all archery gold medals in Tokyo.

Meanwhile, Japan defeated the Netherlands to win the bronze medal.
