BTS released the original uncut version of the "I NEED U" MV.

On May 11, BTS released the "I NEED U" MV through its official YouTube. This 19+ rated music video has been postponed for release ahead of their comeback last month. By then, the boy group's agency Big Hit Entertainment released an edited version of the music video. The original music video has more darker imagery than the previous one, and is two minutes longer.

Big Hit Entertainment said, "The theme of this music video is wandering youth. Fans will be able to understand more clearly about the youth that members wanted to show through the original version MV. Also, the music video will help fans understand the emotions of the title track 'I NEED U' as well as the group's album 'Blooming Youth pt.1'."

BTS released 'I NEED U' on April 29, and took #1 on KBS2TV's "Music Bank", SBS MTV's "The Show", and Mnet's "M! Countdown".
