Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) is participating in the Morocco Airshow to target the African defense market with its homegrown FA-50 light attack aircraft.
KAI announced on the 8th that it is taking part in the Morocco Marrakech Airshow 2026 held in Marrakech, Morocco.
The Marrakech Airshow is a flagship international aerospace and defense exhibition representing North Africa and the Middle East. Celebrating its eighth edition this year, the event features approximately 200 companies from 27 countries showcasing cutting-edge aerospace technologies and defense products, serving as a vital business gateway to the African market.
As the sole South Korean company participating in the event, KAI is showcasing digital content alongside its key platforms, spearheaded by the FA-50, the KF-21 fighter, the Marine Attack Helicopter (MAH), and the Miron armed helicopter.
Taking into consideration the Royal Moroccan Air Force's advanced jet trainer acquisition program, KAI set up a dedicated FA-50 exhibition booth to highlight the aircraft's high operational efficiency in executing both advanced training and light combat missions.
The FA-50 has garnered strong global interest for its versatility, spanning pilot training through combat operations, and is currently fielded across several countries, including Indonesia, Iraq, the Philippines, Thailand, Poland, and Malaysia.
Leveraging operational data accumulated through previous export programs, KAI plans to actively present the platform's competitive edge to the Moroccan government.
Kim Yong-min, Senior Vice President and Head of the Business Division, stated, "The Morocco Airshow serves as a vital opportunity to directly demonstrate the outstanding performance and global operational track record of the FA-50 to key customers in Morocco and across Africa," adding, "We will vigorously promote KAI's diverse product portfolio and technical capabilities centered around the FA-50, expanding partnerships with local clients to continuously generate new business opportunities."
