SK On's Hungary plant has earned official recognition for outstanding manufacturing and quality competitiveness from global automaker Ford.

SK On announced on the 7th that it held a presentation ceremony for Ford's Q1 Award at its Iváncsa plant in Hungary on the 6th (local time) and secured Q1 certification.

Kim Sung-sik, head of SK On's European operations, attended the event and received the award plaque from a Ford representative.

The Ford Q1 Award is Ford's premier quality certification conferred on outstanding production sites by comprehensively evaluating parts and raw materials suppliers across production technology, product quality, quality improvement efforts, and manufacturing and quality management systems.

Since initiating mass production in the second quarter of 2024, the SK On Iváncsa plant in Hungary has focused on stabilizing production and sharpening quality competitiveness. Attaining Ford Q1 certification within just two years of coming online, the plant has proven it meets the global automaker's stringent manufacturing and quality benchmarks.

During the audit, Ford spoke highly of SK On's advanced quality management framework, which prevents the delivery of defective products while proactively identifying and mitigating potential quality risks.

Kim Sung-sik, head of SK On's European operations, said, "Winning this Q1 Award is the result of concerted efforts between our headquarters and local workforce, who have made quality their foremost priority," adding, "Moving forward, we will continue elevating the manufacturing and quality competitiveness of SK On's Hungary plant through ongoing improvements and proactive quality control to consistently meet customer trust."
