China expressed a principled stance that it maintains its existing position and policy without disclosing specific details of discussions on Korean Peninsula issues held during the summit between its General Secretary and State President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump. Considering Beijing's past posture, this response did not deviate from expectations.

At a regular press briefing on the 28th, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun, in response to a South Korean media outlet's request to provide details on the Korean Peninsula issues discussed by the U.S. and Chinese leaders, stated, "During this visit, the leaders of China and the U.S. exchanged in-depth views on major international and regional issues of mutual concern."   

He added, "China's position and policy on the Korean Peninsula issue maintain continuity and stability." However, he made no mention of the specific views exchanged between the two leaders regarding the Korean Peninsula. Nor did he address whether the denuclearization of North Korea or a potential U.S.-North Korea summit were raised.   

Earlier, China's state-run Xinhua News Agency, reporting on the bilateral summit held at the White House on the 24th, noted that President Trump and President Xi exchanged views on major international and regional issues, including the Korean Peninsula, the Middle East, and Ukraine. 

However, it did not disclose specific details of the discussions concerning the Korean Peninsula. No related details emerged from the U.S. side either. It appears that the Korean Peninsula issue remains a delicate topic for both superpowers to publicly address.
