LS Electric is moving to penetrate the ASEAN data center market with an integrated power package spanning extra-high-voltage transformers, power distribution equipment, and direct current (DC) solutions for AI data centers. The strategy aims to expand the project experience gained in North America and the domestic market into Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore, preempting rapidly growing demand for power infrastructure.
On the 28th, LS Electric announced that it will participate in Data Centre World Asia 2026 (DCWA 2026), held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore on the 29th and 30th. Setting up a 90-square-meter exhibition booth, the company will showcase its data center package solution, which bundles the entire power supply lifecycle for data centers into a single offering.
The exhibition booth will feature extra-high-voltage transformers and gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) necessary for large-scale power transmission, alongside static synchronous compensators (STATCOM) and large-capacity battery energy storage systems (BESS) for grid stabilization.
The company will also introduce modular substations that cut data center construction timelines. By pre-assembling switchgear and distribution transformers into integrated modules offsite, this solution shortens on-site installation time, directly targeting hyperscale data centers that require fast construction and capacity expansion. In the low-voltage domain, LS Electric will present main distribution boards (MDBs), remote power panels (RPPs), and busways that deliver electricity directly to server racks. The package also incorporates Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software to monitor and manage the operational status of power infrastructure in real time.
LS Electric will also introduce DC power distribution technology, emerging as a next-generation data center power architecture, to the ASEAN market. The company plans to present demonstration case studies and operational data from its Cheonan DC Factory operating at its Cheonan plant in South Chungcheong Province. LS Electric has verified the commercial viability of related technologies at the site by applying DC distribution systems to actual manufacturing lines.
LS Electric established Singapore as its bridgehead for entering the ASEAN market because Southeast Asian data center investments are expanding rapidly amid the proliferation of AI and cloud computing. The size of investments in the ASEAN data center market is projected to grow from roughly 10.2 billion dollars in 2023 at a compound annual growth rate of 14.2%, reaching 30.5 billion dollars by 2030.
An LS Electric official said, "Power infrastructure for data centers demands technical capabilities that satisfy both large capacity and high reliability simultaneously. Building on the technical credibility gained from global data center projects and our production bases in Vietnam and Indonesia, we will expand our push to secure hyperscale data center clients across the ASEAN region."
