The Czech deputy prime minister and minister of defense visited LIG Defense & Aerospace (LIG D&A) to inspect cutting-edge air defense systems, including the L-SAM, and explore potential bilateral cooperation.
According to LIG D&A on the 8th, the Czech deputy prime minister and minister of defense, who arrived in South Korea to attend the Seoul Defense Dialogue (SDD), visited the Pangyo R&D facility on the 7th. The visit aimed to explore opportunities for cooperation in strengthening the Czech Republic's defense capabilities and modernizing its air defense architecture.
During the visit, LIG D&A presented its latest air defense solutions across key operational domains, including the Long-range Surface-to-Air Missile (L-SAM) system and counter-unmanned aerial vehicle (C-UAV) systems, which have emerged as critical assets in modern warfare.
Highlighting its system integration capabilities and technical reliability in establishing multi-layered integrated air defense solutions that provide gapless coverage from low to high altitudes, LIG D&A presented the feasibility of delivering customized air defense solutions tailored to the Czech Republic's security environment.
CEO Shin Ick-hyun hosted the visit in person, underscoring the company-wide commitment to supporting the Czech Republic's defense capability enhancement strategy. Deputy Prime Minister Jaromír Zůna responded in turn, leading in-depth discussions on strengthening strategic partnerships and exploring future avenues of cooperation.
LIG D&A plans to leverage this visit to bolster its export competitiveness in the European air defense market and broaden multifaceted defense partnerships beyond simple hardware delivery to include technological cooperation and joint development.
CEO Shin stated, "We hope LIG D&A's world-class air defense technology can contribute to enhancing the Czech Republic's defense capabilities. We will continue to open new horizons in bilateral defense industry cooperation through close engagement."
Deputy Prime Minister Jaromír Zůna expressed keen interest in LIG D&A's technological prowess, stating, "We aim to further solidify the Czech Republic's security posture through defense industry cooperation with South Korea."
