The Ministry of National Defense announced on the 3rd that the ceremony commemorating the 78th Armed Forces Day will be held on the runway at Gyeryongdae.

On this day, the ministry stated that the Armed Forces Day event will take place on the Gyeryongdae runway on October 1 under the theme "Realizing Self-Reliant Defense, the Irreplaceable Armed Forces."

This year, the ceremony will be staged on the Gyeryongdae runway, where the "2026 Ground Forces Festival" and the "Gyeryong Military Culture Festival" are held, to foster communication and unity with the public. This reflects the four-year master plan for Armed Forces Day ceremonies, designed to ensure continuity and progression by rotating across service branches year by year while mobilizing large-scale equipment maneuvers and military personnel.

The ceremony will be held with about 4,000 service members. The program is expected to feature diverse events, including traditional Korean music performances, joint civil-military Taekwondo demonstrations, aerial power flypasts, a commemorative flight by the Black Eagles aerobatic team, and exhibitions showcasing various K-defense weapon systems integrated with AI and cutting-edge technologies.

The official website for the Armed Forces Day ceremony will recruit prospective attendees for a designated period starting September 3. Selected applicants will receive detailed individual notifications during September.
