Discount coupons allowing audiences to enjoy plays, musicals, classical music, traditional Korean music (gugak), and dance at a 10,000-won discount will be released this fall.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that, together with the Korea Arts Management Service and the Arts Council Korea, it will distribute 220,000 performance discount coupons from the 1st until November 30. Designed to broaden public access to performing arts and revitalize the sluggish performance market, this initiative marks the second round following the initial distribution in May. A supplementary budget of 4.1 billion won was allocated to the project.

Starting today, discount coupons will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis across five online booking platforms: Naver Reservation, NOL, Yes24, Time Ticket, and Ticketlink. Users can receive up to two coupons per platform, with distributions operating on a weekly cycle from 10:00 AM every Tuesday until midnight the following Monday. Issued coupons can be applied to performances attended through November 30.

Eligible genres include theater, musicals, classical music, traditional Korean music, dance, and multidisciplinary arts. Popular music and commercial dance are excluded. For tickets priced under 10,000 won, the coupon can still be applied if the total payment amount reaches 15,000 won or more, and coupons can be combined with other discounts provided by each platform.

Additional discounts have also been arranged for performances outside the capital area. For shows held outside Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon, users can obtain two additional coupons per person through four platforms: Naver Reservation, Yes24, Time Ticket, and Ticketlink. Non-capital status is determined based on the address of the performance venue.

On-site discounts will also be implemented for audience members unfamiliar with online booking. For planned performances at cultural and arts centers outside the capital area with admission fees exceeding 10,000 won, seniors aged 55 and older, individuals with disabilities, low-income earners, and farmers and fishers can receive an on-site discount of 10,000 won per ticket. Group attendees from elementary, middle, and high schools are also eligible.

Performances eligible for on-site discounts and participating cultural and arts centers can be checked via the Korea Performing Arts Box Office Information System (KOPIS). Digitally vulnerable groups can present supporting documents such as an ID card, disability registration card, national basic livelihood security recipient certificate, or agricultural and fishery worker confirmation.

A ministry official stated, "Following the first round, we prepared this second performance discount coupon project to expand opportunities for the public to enjoy culture and to help revitalize the performing arts market." The official added, "We hope this fall's performance discount coupons will encourage people to enjoy the performing arts more closely in everyday life with family and friends."
