President Lee Jae-myung received a report on the 26th that a South Korean national went missing due to flooding in the Nuwakot region of Nepal and issued urgent instructions to mobilize all-out efforts for search and rescue operations.
Cheong Wa Dae Chief Spokesperson Kang Yu-jung stated that President Lee was briefed on the matter, noting, "A report was received that a South Korean national participating in the construction of a local hydroelectric power plant has gone missing due to the floods in Nepal."
President Lee also issued urgent directives, saying, "With the lives and safety of our people as the top priority, mobilize all available means and exert all-out efforts in search and rescue operations for the missing individual."
President Lee further instructed officials to work closely with the Nepalese government and local authorities, adding, "Make every effort to support the missing individual's family and ensure the safety of our citizens remaining on the ground."
