According to an announcement by China's Foreign Ministry on the 23rd, Wang made these remarks during a meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta, Indonesia on the 21st.

Wang argued that "no force in this world can stop the continued rise of developing countries such as China and Indonesia," stressing that "China has both the capability and the will to deepen cooperation with Indonesia, helping it convert its resources into a driving force for development, accelerate industrialization and modernization, and bring greater tangible benefits to its people."

He continued, "The development of human society can only advance continuously through openness — closure only leads to backwardness," urging that "the more unstable the world becomes and the more complex and severe external challenges grow, the more China and Indonesia must strengthen their unity, maintaining mutual trust and mutual support while upholding openness and cooperation."

In response, President Prabowo said other countries need to learn from China's development in the economy, science and technology, and military fields, saying, "Indonesia hopes to strengthen comprehensive strategic cooperation with China across politics, the economy, and science and technology, and welcomes more Chinese companies to come invest and do business in Indonesia."

According to China's Foreign Ministry, Prabowo added, "We will continue to provide a favorable business environment for Chinese companies," and said Indonesia "will oppose any attempts at sowing division or incitement driven by ulterior motives."

Defense Minister Dong Jun, who traveled together with Wang to attend the China-Indonesia foreign and defense ministers' "2+2" dialogue, also attended the meeting.

Earlier that same day, the second ministerial meeting of the China-Indonesia foreign and defense ministers' 2+2 dialogue mechanism was held. At this meeting, Wang touted the China-Indonesia 2+2 mechanism as "the first ministerial-level 2+2 mechanism China has established with any country in the world," assessing that at their first meeting, both sides had strongly advanced political security and defense cooperation, jointly safeguarding their respective legitimate interests.

China's Foreign Ministry also said Wang co-chaired, together with Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono, the first meeting of the China-Indonesia comprehensive strategic dialogue mechanism that day, reaching broad agreement on advancing the building of a "community of shared destiny" between the two countries. This appears to be a concrete step in preparing for what might be described as an invisible "shadow war" with the Western world, led by the United States.
