Pop star Charlie Puth will hold his first stadium concert in Korea this coming October. He will meet with Korean fans on October 11 at the Goyang Stadium for his world tour concert "Whatever's Clever!" This marks his return to Korea about a year after his stage appearance as a festival headliner in August last year.

In a recent written interview with Asia Today, Charlie Puth shared, "I still cannot believe that the venue has grown into a stadium," adding, "I am sincerely grateful to the Korean fans who have loved me consistently for such a long time."

Since his first visit to Korea in 2016, Charlie Puth has expanded the scale of his concerts with every return. His two-day performances at the Jamsil Arena in Seoul in 2018 sold out all 17,000 seats, and he gathered 45,000 people over three days at the KSPO Dome in Seoul Olympic Park in 2023. The following year, 50,000 audience members flocked to his two-day concerts at the Seoul Gocheok Sky Dome.

To him, Korea is a place where memories from the early days of his debut remain, and he cannot forget the moment when the audience cheered nonstop for five minutes during his very first performance. "What was happening right in front of my eyes was so astonishing, and I felt as if my life had changed overnight," Charlie Puth recalled.

For this upcoming concert, he will perform songs released early in his debut alongside a full band in new arrangements. He also plans to showcase tracks and medleys from his fourth studio album "Whatever's Clever!", released this past March, as well as a surprise stage dedicated to Korean fans. "Although the scale of the concert has grown, I want to maintain an atmosphere where I can breathe closely with the audience," he stated, adding, "I hope everyone in the audience feels like a special part of the show."

He introduced this fourth studio album as "the album I worked on with the most freedom." His favorite track is "Love in Exile," which features Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins. He completed the song by unpacking the story backward from a title proposed by Kenny Loggins, and noted that it was a wonderful experience to work with such legendary artists.

What Charlie Puth considers most important in his work is genuine emotion. He holds the musical philosophy that "if a song can be felt with true sincerity, I believe it can touch someone's heart as well."

This same musical philosophy carried over into his collaborations with K-pop artists. Having worked with groups like BTS, Stray Kids, and BabyMonster, he focused heavily on bringing out each artist's unique voice and the emotion of the track.

"I am always amazed by the dedication of K-pop artists and their focus on detail," he said. "With Stray Kids, we finished a song in a single night, and it was impressive to see how they stayed fully focused until the very end to perfectly deliver their respective vocal parts."

Outside of this upcoming Korean concert, he is looking forward to Korean barbecue and convenience store ramen. While there is a barbecue restaurant recommended by the BTS members, he jokingly added, "The location is a secret."

"Whether this is your very first time at my show or you've been with me since 2016, I hope everyone creates an unforgettable night. I want to sing together at the Goyang Stadium and make special memories."
