Following his attendance at the Southwest Advanced Industry Development Vision Briefing held in Gwangju on the 30th, President Lee Jae-myung conducted an aerial inspection via helicopter over prospective future mobility industrial complexes and offshore wind farms across South Jeolla Province, assessing the region's advanced industries and renewable energy infrastructure.
Blue House Deputy Spokesperson Ahn Gwi-ryeong announced in a written briefing, "President Lee Jae-myung conducted an aerial survey of prospective industrial complexes and offshore wind power zones in the southwest region this afternoon."
During the flight, President Lee received a briefing from Vice Defense Minister Lee Doo-hee while observing the site of the Gwangju military airfield, which is currently slated for relocation to Muan, South Jeolla Province.
Guided by Policy Chief Kim Yong-bum, the president then surveyed a 3.3-million-square-meter site designated for Gwangju's prospective future mobility industrial complex.
Additionally, President Lee inspected Solaseado in Haenam—a future-oriented smart city integration of high-tech industries, solar power, and AI data centers—alongside the Mokpo New Port, a core logistics hub for southwest offshore wind installations. His aerial tour also covered the Anjwa Solar City in Sinan, the South Jeolla offshore wind farm, and the Nakwol offshore wind farm in Yeonggwang.
"This aerial tour follows yesterday's Grand Leap Forward: Three Mega Projects National Briefing and today's Southwest Advanced Industry Development Vision Briefing," Deputy Spokesperson An stated. "The inspection was arranged to directly examine the advanced industries and energy infrastructure of the southwest region, confirming the foundation for its future growth."
