Hyundai Motor Group is accelerating its Plug and Charge (PnC) initiatives by joining hands with Chaevi, the leading domestic private fast-charging operator, to provide electric vehicle (EV) customers with an enhanced charging experience.

According to Hyundai Motor Group on the 29th, the company has completed the application of PnC technology in tandem with Chaevi and is officially launching PnC services at Chaevi charging stations nationwide.

PnC is an international standard technology where the entire process—ranging from member authentication to charging and payment—proceeds automatically upon simply connecting the charging cable to an electric vehicle.

Unlike conventional EV charging stations that require membership authentication cards or credit cards, stations applied with PnC implement encrypted communication between the vehicle and the charger, helping customers enjoy convenient and secure charging services solely through a cable connection.

This collaboration marks the first milestone of Hyundai Motor Group's "Domestic PnC Network Expansion Plan" announced in December last year. Previously available primarily at 83 locations of E-pit, Hyundai Motor Group's ultra-fast charging service, PnC can now be utilized across approximately 1,500 Chaevi charging stations nationwide through this technical integration.

Moving forward, Hyundai Motor Group plans to step-by-step expand the domestic PnC charging ecosystem by collaborating with other major domestic charging operators in alignment with the government's PnC expansion policies.

An official from Hyundai Motor Group stated, "The commencement of PnC services with Chaevi serves as a major turning point to officially proliferate customer-centric charging innovations," adding, "We will continue to cooperate closely with private charging operators and the government to build an ecosystem that simultaneously elevates both the convenience and safety of EV charging infrastructure."
