Samsung Electronics held its “2026 Australia Tech Seminar” in Sydney on May 14-15, unveiling new AI-powered TV technologies and next-generation display products tailored to evolving home entertainment trends.
The annual event, first launched in 2012, introduces Samsung’s latest visual display and audio technologies to global industry experts. This year’s seminar brought together local technology media, industry officials and consumer-focused publications to experience Samsung’s 2026 screen lineup, ranging from Micro RGB and OLED TVs to Odyssey gaming monitors.
Samsung emphasized its home entertainment strategy designed for Australian consumers by showcasing advanced AI-driven viewing experiences and display technologies that reflect local content consumption habits and residential environments.
A key highlight was Samsung’s upgraded AI features integrated across its 2026 TV lineup. The new models are equipped with “Vision AI Companion,” which analyzes viewing environments and content in real time to optimize picture and audio settings for users.
Samsung also demonstrated its new “AI Soccer Mode,” designed to enhance sports viewing experiences. The feature uses AI to analyze football matches in real time, delivering clearer colors, smoother motion and immersive stadium audio, including crowd reactions and commentary.
The 2026 Samsung OLED TV lineup is the first in the industry to adopt the next-generation HDR standard “HDR10+ Advanced.” Powered by enhanced AI technology, the feature optimizes brightness, color, contrast and motion processing in real time to provide a more refined viewing experience.
Samsung also introduced its “Micro RGB” TV technology, which delivers more precise color reproduction and enhanced image depth. Powered by the “Micro RGB AI Engine,” the display precisely adjusts colors and contrast to improve optical control and maintain stable picture quality across various viewing environments.
The Micro RGB lineup also features “Micro RGB Color Booster Pro” and “Micro RGB HDR Pro,” technologies designed to deliver vivid and consistent color performance regardless of lighting conditions.
Samsung further demonstrated the upgraded picture quality of its 2026 OLED TVs by comparing improvements in brightness, HDR tone mapping and processing performance against previous models. The company also highlighted its “Glare Free” technology, which reduces reflections and improves visibility in bright environments.
In the gaming monitor segment, Samsung showcased several new Odyssey products, including “Odyssey 3D,” which uses eye-tracking and view-mapping technologies to provide glasses-free 3D effects by analyzing users’ gaze in real time.
The company also introduced the “Odyssey G8,” the first gaming monitor to support 6K ultra-high resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate, as well as the “Odyssey OLED G8,” featuring fast response times and enhanced black-level performance.
Lee Heon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business, said the company would continue advancing user-centric viewing experiences through differentiated AI screen technologies.
