Hanwha Aerospace
will supply three additional Chunmoo multiple launch rocket systems to Estonia, securing a follow-up contract just five months after its first export agreement with the Baltic nation.

The company said Sunday that the additional supply deal was signed under a government-to-government export contract between KOTRA
and the Estonian Centre for Defence Investments.

The agreement follows a previous contract signed in December last year worth approximately 290 million euros ($315 million at current exchange rates), which marked the first entry of Hanwha Aerospace’s Chunmoo system into the Estonian market.

Prior to the Chunmoo deal, Hanwha Aerospace had exported K9 self-propelled howitzers to Estonia in 2020, helping establish defense cooperation and trust between the two countries.

Estonia is currently pursuing modernization and deployment of a battalion-sized multiple launch rocket system force under its National Defence Development Plan 2031, also known as RKAK 2031.

Industry observers said the follow-up order reflects confidence in Hanwha’s ability to deliver on schedule and provide customized support throughout the project.

Hanno Pevkur said the additional acquisition of three Chunmoo systems would play an important role in strengthening Estonia’s defense capabilities.

“It also demonstrates that cooperation with Hanwha continues to develop closely,” he said.

Son Jae-il said the company was honored to contribute further to strengthening Estonia’s defense capabilities and defense industry ecosystem through the additional supply agreement.

“We will continue actively introducing Hanwha’s defense solutions in the Baltic region and strengthen our position as a trusted strategic partner for Estonia,” Son said.
