Jisoo of BLACKPINK has firmly denied any connection to a recent family-related controversy and announced strong legal action against the spread of false information.
On April 20, attorney Eun Hyun-ho of Kim & Chang, acting as legal counsel for Jisoo’s agency Blissoo, released an official statement addressing the issue. The statement criticized the indiscriminate spread of unverified claims and defamatory content across media outlets, online communities, and social media platforms.
The legal team emphasized that the matter in question is “completely unrelated” to both Jisoo and Blissoo, adding that many of the circulating claims are either unverified speculation or outright falsehoods.
They also explained Jisoo’s personal circumstances, noting that she began her trainee life at a young age and has lived independently for a long time, making it impossible for her to be aware of or involved in the private matters of the individual in question.
Regarding allegations tied to the establishment of Blissoo, the agency clarified that while family members may have provided limited advice or assisted in communication during the early preparation stages, they were never involved in decision-making or compensated by the company. The agency stressed that it has been operated entirely independently of her family.
Claims that Jisoo co-founded the company with a specific individual or that the person served as an executive or CEO were dismissed as “completely untrue.” The agency added that the individual currently has no legal or managerial ties to Blissoo.
The statement also denied any financial or legal support being provided to the individual, emphasizing that there has been no interaction or involvement related to the matter.
The legal representative warned of firm action against the spread of false information, stating that “continuously distributing false claims or linking Jisoo’s name, image, or likeness to unrelated issues constitutes a clear violation of rights and defamation.” The agency said it would pursue all possible civil and criminal legal measures without delay.
It further stressed that there would be no leniency or settlements for malicious or repeated offenders.
The controversy emerged after reports that an individual, identified as the older brother of a member of a well-known girl group, had been arrested on charges of molesting a female BJ (internet broadcaster). Speculation quickly spread online suggesting a connection to Jisoo, prompting the agency’s strong response.
