Kim Seung-youn, chairman of Hanwha Group, hosted a dinner for retired teachers of Bukil Academy to mark the institution’s 50th anniversary, expressing appreciation for their contributions and reaffirming his commitment to fostering future talent.

According to Hanwha Group on April 17, Kim invited 37 retired teachers to a dinner event held at the Plaza Hotel in central Seoul on April 16. More than 40 current and former faculty members attended the gathering.

“Teachers who laid the foundation of Bukil made its 50 years possible through their dedication,” Kim said. “Their teachings will continue to serve as a compass for future generations of Bukil students.”

The event was organized to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Bukil Academy, which was founded in 1976. Centered around Bukil High School and Bukil Girls’ High School, the institution has produced approximately 24,000 graduates to date.

A Bukil Foundation official said the event reflects the founding philosophy of “nation-building through education,” first emphasized by the late founder Kim Chong-hee, and underscores Kim Seung-youn’s continued commitment to nurturing national talent.

During the event, teachers expressed their gratitude and presented commemorative gifts, including calligraphy works. After the dinner, Kim personally greeted each attendee with a handshake.

Hanwha Group has continued to support education initiatives based on its founding philosophy, including the operation of Bukil Academy and sponsorship of “Samrakhoe,” an association of retired teachers.

Earlier this month, Kim also attended Bukil High School’s 50th anniversary ceremony, where he encouraged students and faculty members.
