Samsung Electronics showcased its latest AI-powered home appliances at a technology seminar held in New Jersey, presenting a vision for a differentiated AI-driven home lifestyle.

The event, titled “The Brief New York,” took place from April 15 to 16 at a showroom in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, and was attended by local media and influencers.

At the seminar, Samsung introduced its “Home Companion” concept, designed to reduce the burden of household chores while enhancing overall quality of life through AI-enabled appliances.

The company demonstrated real-life use cases of AI recognition technologies embedded in refrigerators, ovens, and robot vacuum cleaners, highlighting how they deliver practical convenience in everyday living.

The 2026 Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator features an “AI Vision” function that uses internal cameras to recognize food items in real time. It can identify not only fresh and processed foods but also product labels, automatically saving them to a food list. This allows users to monitor and manage ingredients remotely while reducing unnecessary duplicate purchases.

The Bespoke AI Oven supports an “AI Pro Cooking” feature that minimizes user intervention while improving cooking precision. Using an internal camera, it recognizes ingredients and suggests optimal cooking settings. It also detects color changes during cooking and sends alerts via SmartThings to prevent food from burning.

Meanwhile, the 2026 Bespoke AI Steam Ultra robot vacuum combines RGB camera sensors with infrared LEDs to detect and avoid or intensively clean transparent liquids that were previously difficult to identify.

Samsung also introduced new refrigerator lineups tailored to North American consumers, emphasizing large-capacity storage, hygiene, and space efficiency. Features include “SpaceMax” for expanded internal storage, an “Auto-Fill Water Pitcher,” an internal “Beverage Center,” and an ice maker capable of producing six types of ice, including cube ice and whiskey ball ice.

In addition, the company showcased a French door refrigerator equipped with “Zero Clearance” technology, allowing seamless installation with as little as 4mm of side space, delivering a built-in look.

Moon Jong-seung, Executive Vice President of Samsung’s Digital Appliances division, said, “Samsung’s AI appliances are evolving into true home companions that understand and support consumers’ lives. We will continue to actively target the North American market with specialized features tailored to local lifestyles and a differentiated AI ecosystem.”
