BTS has made history as its fifth studio album Arirang remained at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for three consecutive weeks.
According to Billboard’s preview chart released on April 12, Arirang held off competition from Morgan Wallen’s I'm The Problem and Kanye West’s BULLY to maintain its top position.
This marks the first time a K-pop album has stayed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for three straight weeks. Previously, the soundtrack for the Netflix animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters had reached No. 1 for two non-consecutive weeks, but no K-pop release had achieved a three-week streak.
Arirang reflects the group’s current identity and musical direction, featuring 14 tracks including the title song “SWIM.” Since its release, the album has continued to perform steadily across major global charts.
Momentum is also expected to continue on the singles chart. The title track “SWIM” ranked No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 last week and is widely projected to remain within the top 10 on the latest chart to be released on April 13.
