President Lee Jae-myung on March 19 strongly condemned allegations raised by a YouTube channel claiming he created overseas slush funds, calling them “a truly absurd and malicious smear.”
Lee shared a post on social media by Democratic Party lawmaker Han Jun-ho and wrote, “Allegations of slush fund creation and leaking military secrets—this must be dealt with strictly,” stressing the need for firm action.
Han also criticized the video uploaded by the YouTube channel “Jeon Han-gil News,” calling its claims “ridiculous.” He warned that “malicious fake news targeting the president has gone too far” and urged authorities to investigate immediately.
The video in question features a man who claims to be a former intelligence operative, alleging that Lee transferred 160 trillion won and military secrets to China via Singapore. The man asserted that U.S. agents stationed in Singapore had identified the situation, but provided no concrete evidence.
The channel’s host described the issue as “nuclear-level” in significance, while adding that the claims were “separate from the official stance of the channel.”
