Netflix’s original series Squid Game has won a Critics Choice Award for the third time, reaffirming its global critical acclaim.
At the 31st Critics Choice Awards, held Sunday at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, Squid Game Season 3 received the award for Best Foreign Language Series in the television category, beating out competitors including Acapulco and Last Samurai Standing.
The achievement follows earlier wins by the franchise. Season 1 made history in 2022 as the first Korean drama to win Best Foreign Language Series, while lead actor Lee Jung-jae became the first Korean performer to take home Best Actor in a Drama Series at the ceremony. Last year, Season 2 also captured the same series honor.
The awards are presented by the Critics Choice Association, which represents more than 600 film and television critics and journalists from the United States and Canada. Winners are selected annually across film and television categories, with the TV awards recognizing series titles regardless of season distinctions.
