Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) leader Jung Chung-rae called for full unity among the party, the government, and the presidential office, urging members to work as “one team” to secure a sweeping victory in next year’s local elections.

Speaking at the National District Committee Chairs Workshop on November 11, Jung emphasized, “First, second, and third, we must ensure the success of the Lee Jae-myung administration. To do so, we must achieve victory in the June 2026 local elections.”

He continued, “The party, the government, and the presidential office must move forward as one team and one voice, staying united like solid stone and working in perfect harmony until the end of President Lee’s term. Each of us must meet our constituents with humility and do our utmost to achieve an overwhelming victory.”

DPK floor leader Kim Byung-ki also reaffirmed the party’s goal, declaring, “Our objective is clear — to lead the Lee Jae-myung administration to success through victory in the 2026 local elections.” He added, “We must show that the Democratic Party is one that works in every community, every neighborhood, and alongside the people. We will mobilize all our strength so that the government, the National Assembly, and the regions act as one body.”

The workshop brought together regional party leaders from across the country to strengthen coordination ahead of the elections, as the DPK aims to consolidate support for the Lee administration’s agenda and reaffirm internal cohesion under Jung’s leadership.
