The presidential office is reportedly considering presenting U.S. President Donald Trump with a replica of a Silla-era gold crown during his state visit to South Korea for the APEC summit on October 29.

According to officials, the idea reflects Trump’s well-known fondness for gold tones—evident since he redecorated the Oval Office in gold after taking office. The gift is intended to combine this personal preference with a symbol of Korea’s rich heritage.

An official from the presidential office said on Tuesday that “a specially crafted, gold-plated model is under consideration as a state gift.”

Earlier in August, during the Korea-U.S. summit in Washington, President Lee Jae-myung presented Trump with a turtle ship model symbolizing the bilateral shipbuilding cooperation project known as MASGA (Make American Shipbuilding Great Again).
