The presidential office on October 28 revealed a series of digital goods celebrating the upcoming APEC 2025 Summit in Gyeongju, designed to highlight Korea’s traditional craftsmanship and the city’s rich cultural heritage.
President Lee Jae-myung introduced the official digital collection through a Facebook post, saying it was created to “embody the hope for the successful hosting of APEC 2025 KOREA in Gyeongju from October 31 to November 1.”
“The quiet beauty of Gyeongju, a thousand-year-old city, and the elegance of our traditional crafts such as mother-of-pearl and bojagi (wrapping cloth) are reimagined in digital form so that people can feel the dignity of Korea,” Lee wrote.
He added, “This APEC summit marks our return as host nation after 20 years. It will be both a major diplomatic stage welcoming world leaders and a festival for all citizens. I hope it will elevate Korea as a global hub of cooperation and innovation, and I ask for everyone’s support.”
According to the presidential office, the digital goods collection was created under three main themes—symbolizing the restoration of Korea’s global diplomacy and the nation’s aspiration for a successful APEC summit.
The first set includes the official APEC 2025 emblem and bojagi design, representing harmony among the 21 APEC member economies and the spirit of cooperation. The “UN Visit” goods commemorate Korea’s diplomatic resurgence following President Lee’s speech at the 80th U.N. General Assembly, while the “Cultural Heritage” series reinterprets Gyeongju’s thousand-year-old Silla heritage in digital form.
The collection, titled “APEC 2025 KOREA Gyeongju Commemorative Digital Goods,” includes 21 items in total: four Android smartwatch faces, nine Apple Watch wallpapers, and eight universal smartphone backgrounds. All designs are available for free download on the presidential office’s official website and blog.
