Prime Minister Kim Min-seok visited the soon-to-be-relocated headquarters of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) in Busan’s Sujeong-dong district on October 28, calling for the relocation project to be completed safely and without delay.

During his inspection of the IM Building—where the ministry is set to move within two months—Kim was briefed on the relocation progress by Kim Jae-chul, Director-General for Planning and Coordination at the ministry. Seong Hee-yeop, Busan’s Deputy Mayor for Future Innovation, and several government officials also joined the visit.

“The relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries is a key element of balanced national development,” the prime minister said. “I ask both the ministry and the city of Busan to ensure that relocating employees face minimal inconvenience and that a stable living environment is provided.”

Kim Jae-chul reported that the ministry would “prioritize safety and complete the relocation without setbacks,” adding that the move would serve as “a cornerstone for establishing Busan as the nation’s maritime capital and a new engine for Korea’s growth.”

Prime Minister Kim emphasized again that safety must remain the highest priority. “With about two months left before the relocation, please make sure all construction is carried out with utmost caution,” he said. “If any additional support is needed, let me know. I will return after the relocation is completed.”
