K-pop is moving beyond the stage and into the theater. A wave of documentaries, concert films, and live viewings is hitting cinemas this fall, turning movie screens into new spaces of connection between artists and fans.

On October 25, the boy band &TEAM will livestream the first show of their “Awaken the Bloodline Encore in Japan” tour at 15 Lotte Cinema locations across South Korea. The screenings will take place in the chain’s specialized “Gwang-eum Cinema” auditoriums, equipped with ultra-low bass woofers and massive screens to recreate the live concert’s energy.

Global superstar G-Dragon will follow with his concert film “Weaver Mensch,” premiering worldwide on October 29 through CGV. The film captures his first world tour in eight years, spotlighting the stage philosophy and artistry of the K-pop icon. To enhance immersion, CGV plans to offer the film in ScreenX, 4DX, and Ultra 4DX formats.

BTS member J-Hope will join the lineup with “J-Hope Tour: Hope on the Stage – The Movie,” opening in CGV theaters on November 12 and in Japan on November 28. The film documents the encore concert of J-Hope’s first solo world tour, which spanned 16 cities and concluded in June at Goyang Sports Complex. Ahead of its release, an IMAX premiere event will be held on November 3.

Earlier, TWICE met fans on October 20 through their 10th anniversary documentary “One in a Million,” which premiered at CGV, offering an intimate look at their decade-long journey together.

Industry observers say the K-pop cinema boom signals a new phase of fan engagement — transforming passive viewing into a shared, immersive experience. “K-pop screenings have evolved into a cultural ecosystem where fandom and industry coexist,” said one music executive. “They show that K-pop is no longer just a genre of music but an ‘experience industry’ connecting the world through emotion.”
