Hearts2Hearts unveiled their first mini album FOCUS with a showcase held on October 20 at Blue Square in Seoul’s Yongsan District, marking a new stage in the rookie group’s growth under SM Entertainment.
“‘The Chase’ announced our beginning, and ‘Style’ brought us a step closer,” the members said. “With FOCUS, as the name suggests, we wanted to show our color clearly and capture everyone’s attention.”
The title track “FOCUS,” which shares the album’s name, is a house-genre song featuring a vintage piano riff and a catchy melody. The group said they experimented with a new style to highlight a more mature, confident charm. Written by lyricist Kenzie, the song expresses the feeling of being completely drawn to someone — with the message that anyone who listens will, in turn, focus on Hearts2Hearts.
The six-track album includes “FOCUS,” the pre-released “Style,” the new jack swing track “Pretty Please,” the nu-disco-inspired “Apple Pie,” the city-pop “Flutter,” and the R&B pop ballad “Blue Moon.”
The performance, directed by choreographer Jo Nain — who previously worked on “Golden” from Netflix’s K-Pop Demon Hunters — emphasizes precision and energy. “The key point is the focusing gesture,” the members explained. “We made the most of being a large group with dynamic unit changes and formation shifts.”
Jiwoo shared, “We practiced four to five hours a day; dancing FOCUS alone is like a full cardio workout.” Stella added, “When I first heard the song, it felt almost hypnotic. We prepared with full confidence to show something new.”
Continuing SM’s tradition of powerful, synchronized performance, Hearts2Hearts combines sharp choreography with chemistry built since their trainee days. “Because we’ve trained together for so long, feedback comes naturally,” said Aina. “We keep Kangta’s advice — that synchronization matters most — always in mind.”
Eight months into their debut, the group said they’ve grown through SMTOWN concerts, overseas events, and university festivals. “Now we have the confidence to connect with the audience on stage,” said Stella. Jiwoo added, “We’re keeping our precision while letting each member’s personality shine.”
Their goals are clear: No.1 on music shows and charts. “Beyond wins, we want to be known as a team that’s truly passionate about performing,” Aina said.
FOCUS and its music video were released simultaneously at 6 p.m. on October 20 on all major music platforms.
