The original soundtrack (OST) for Netflix’s animated film K-pop Demon Hunters has topped both of Billboard’s main charts in the United States.

On September 15, Billboard said the OST track “Golden” held No. 1 on the Hot 100 for a fifth straight week. The album also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week, securing a rare “double crown.”

It is the first time in about five years that a K-pop album and one of its tracks have simultaneously led the Hot 100 and Billboard 200, a feat last achieved by BTS in December 2020 with the album BE and the title track “Life Goes On.”

“Golden” climbed steadily after entering the Hot 100 at No. 81, maintaining a 12-week run to date with the following weekly peaks: 23, 6, 4, 2, 2, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1.

During the latest tracking week, “Golden” logged about 33.8 million streams (down 2% week-over-week), while radio airplay jumped 19% to 26.3 million impressions, supporting its continued rise. Digital downloads totaled 8,000, down 11% but still among the chart’s highest tallies.

Sub-chart results were also notable: “Golden” ranked No. 1 on Streaming Songs for an eighth consecutive week, rose on Radio Songs from No. 24 to No. 20, and placed No. 3 on Digital Song Sales.

Three additional OST tracks—“Your Idol,” “Soda Pop,” and “How It’s Done”—landed at Nos. 4, 5 and 8 on the Hot 100, respectively, putting four songs from the same soundtrack in the top 10 at once.

Industry watchers credited the performance to a coordinated campaign that included a deluxe re-release and nationwide sing-along screenings in the U.S., lifting both awareness and consumption.

Billboard noted that the deluxe album, featuring 23 tracks including a cappella and sing-along versions of “Golden,” is out now, with an LP slated for release on October 17.
