The presidential office announced on August 17 that it will focus next week on follow-up measures to national policy tasks and preparations for overseas visits.

In particular, ahead of the upcoming Korea-U.S. summit, the office plans to host a meeting with business leaders to hear updates on economic projects, corporate investment and purchasing plans in the United States, and any difficulties they face.

In a written briefing, Deputy Spokesperson Jeon Eun-soo stated, “The Lee Jae-myung administration will move forward with only the people in mind.” Jeon explained that the chiefs of staff, policy, and national security will hold separate press briefings, allowing for in-depth Q&A sessions with the press on diplomacy, security, policy, economy, and personnel affairs.

Jeon added that an additional roundtable with economic groups and business leaders will be held to express gratitude for their support during tariff negotiations with the U.S. and to further discuss corporate challenges and opportunities related to the upcoming summit.

The government also plans inter-ministerial meetings and joint briefings on economic growth strategies, including discussions on major initiatives such as AI transformation and system semiconductors to drive what it calls a “super-innovation economy.”
