Vice foreign ministers from South Korea, the United States, and Japan will meet in Tokyo on July 18 to discuss key areas of trilateral cooperation and North Korea-related issues, Seoul's foreign ministry announced on July 16.
First Vice Foreign Minister Park Yoon-joo will travel to Japan on July 17 to attend the 15th trilateral vice foreign ministers’ meeting the following day.
Park is scheduled to hold talks with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and Japan’s Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Takehiro Funakoshi. The three sides will exchange views on the Korean Peninsula and regional developments, economic security, technology, energy, and the future of trilateral cooperation.
Park will also hold separate bilateral meetings with both the U.S. and Japan during his visit.
