Controversial hip-hop star Kanye West will return to South Korea for a concert next month, after a previous show was canceled due to his antisemitic and pro-Nazi remarks.

On June 20, concert organizer Channel Candy announced via its official social media that West will perform on July 26 at Incheon Munhak Stadium. The event, titled "Ye Live in Korea", marks his official return to the Korean stage.

Originally, West had been scheduled to perform at the same venue on May 31 under the banner "Ye’s Korea Concert with Coupang Play". However, just ten days before the concert, Coupang Play announced the show’s cancellation, citing “recent controversies surrounding Kanye West.” The company also halted the sale of related merchandise from West’s Yeezy brand.

The controversy stems from a series of inflammatory remarks by West, who has made repeated antisemitic statements and expressed admiration for Adolf Hitler since around 2020. In February of this year, West posted messages on social media declaring “I am a Nazi” and “I love Hitler.” Then, on May 8, he released a single titled “Heil Hitler,” which reignited public backlash.

Despite the uproar, West maintains a strong following in Korea. Last August, he held a surprise medley performance of 77 of his hit songs during a listening party for his upcoming album at Goyang Sports Complex, thrilling fans.

The upcoming July concert is expected to feature live performances from his latest album, Donda 2, released last month.
