Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister Lee Ju-ho pledged to ensure a fair and transparent presidential election during a meeting with National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik on Wednesday.

At the meeting held in the speaker’s office at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Woo urged the government to thoroughly prevent any illegal activities and to uphold political neutrality among public officials. He also called on the administration to actively support security requests from presidential candidates amid growing concerns over potential threats.

Lee responded by saying, “We will do everything possible to manage this election fairly so that it can become a moment of national unity.” He added, “I’ve been briefed that the police are doing well with candidate protection, but we will thoroughly review all necessary measures to prevent even the slightest risk.”
