Crime action film Yadang: The Snitch has cemented its status as the highest-grossing film of the year so far, dominating the Korean box office for the fourth consecutive weekend.

According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated ticket sales network on April 12, Yadang drew 242,450 moviegoers nationwide from April 9 to 11, bringing its cumulative audience total to 2,981,944 since its release on March 16. The film is now virtually certain to surpass the current yearly record of 3,013,391 admissions held by Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17 by April 13.

Directed and written by Hwang Byung-guk—who previously gained recognition with Wedding Campaign and SIUYadang weaves a high-stakes narrative of betrayal and ambition involving a drug broker, a prosecutor, and a dogged detective. Kang Ha-neul stars as Lee Kang-su, a cunning broker navigating both the prosecution and drug syndicates; Yoo Hae-jin plays Gu Gwan-hee, a prosecutor consumed by ambition; and Park Hae-joon takes on the role of Oh Sang-jae, a relentless detective. Their intense performances and the film’s brisk pacing have been cited as key factors behind its commercial success.

Meanwhile, the game adaptation Minecraft: The Movie and Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts followed with 132,906 and 124,959 admissions, respectively, during the same period. Mystery-action film The Old Woman With the Knife starring Lee Hye-young ranked fourth with 103,221 viewers, and occult-action flick Holy Night: Demon Hunters starring Ma Dong-seok came in fifth with 67,529.
