Ahn Cheol-soo, a member of the People Power Party, officially announced his fourth presidential bid on April 8, declaring himself as "the only candidate capable of defeating Lee Jae-myung."

Speaking at a press conference in Gwanghwamun Square, Seoul, Ahn expressed concerns that "the public fears the possibility of power shifting to Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party." He portrayed himself as "a candidate with a clean record, well-suited to advance the artificial intelligence industry and address medical crises," emphasizing his broad appeal to centrist voters. Ahn urged the selection of "a candidate who can win and achieve victory."

He further stated, "It is time for a change of era to restore the economy and daily life, and to rectify past mistakes," advocating for "national unity that upholds the constitution and laws, and restores fairness and common sense." Ahn also emphasized, "The only way to move beyond the martial law and impeachment of the Yoon Suk-yeol administration is through reflection and innovation, actively pursuing national unity."
