President Yoon Suk-yeol has been removed from office.

 

On April 4 at 11 a.m., the Constitutional Court unanimously upheld the impeachment of President Yoon.

 

All eight justices ruled in favor of the impeachment, agreeing that President Yoon had violated the Constitution and laws to an extent serious enough to justify his removal.

 

With the court’s decision, President Yoon's powers are immediately stripped, and Prime Minister Han Duck-soo will assume the role of acting president.
