On April 2, Kwon Young-se, interim leader of the ruling People Power Party (PPP), emphasized that opposition parties, including the main opposition Democratic Party (DP), must accept the Constitutional Court's ruling on President Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment, regardless of the outcome.
Speaking with reporters at the National Assembly, Kwon stated, "I understand that President Yoon, along with his legal team, has expressed his intention to abide by the court's decision. It is the opposition that has yet to make such a commitment."
He further criticized DP leader Lee Jae-myung for remarks that could be interpreted as incitement to violence, saying, "Lee's comments seem to suggest that bloodshed could occur under certain circumstances. Such statements are inappropriate for responsible politicians of a democratic party and, in my view, are unconstitutional."
