Acting President and Prime Minister Han Duck-soo presided over a meeting of security-related ministers at the Government Complex Seoul on Wednesday. He instructed thorough management of safety and security on the day of the Constitutional Court's ruling on President Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment, stating, "We will respond strictly to all illegal acts under the principle of zero tolerance."

"The government will never tolerate any illegal or violent acts. Actions such as destruction of facilities, assault, arson, and other challenges to public authority and community destruction will be held accountable under the principles of 'immediate arrest of offenders' and 'zero tolerance.'," he said. He also earnestly requested, "I urge citizens participating in rallies and protests to express their opinions peacefully."

In particular, Han addressed the deepening national division surrounding the impeachment trial and the concerns of extreme chaos regardless of the outcome. He urged political parties to focus on "social integration." Han stated, "It is time to prioritize the stability and survival of the community over political gains or losses. I hope you will demonstrate a responsible attitude that contributes to social integration rather than division and conflict."

Han further requested, "Please refrain from making remarks that could incite or provoke illegal protests and violence. Whatever decision is made, it must be calmly and rationally accepted in accordance with the principles of the rule of law. Now is the time for the people, beyond the time of the Constitutional Court."

He added, "The international community is watching to see whether South Korea can maintain the attention and respect it has received on the global stage. I once again earnestly ask for the cooperation and participation of the people so that South Korea's democracy and rule of law can take a step forward and make progress."
